IPL technology is a proven, safe, and effective and convenient treatment for acne. Traditional acne treatments (including topical applications and oral medications) are expensive and are known for numerous side effects and tend to continue for many months or even years. HOW DOES IT WORK?

The SpectraQuattro System utilizes a precisely filtered band of intense pused light to clear ance. The SpectraQuattro performs acne photoclearance. The treatments activate photothermal reaction in the porphyrin molecules associated with the P.acnes bacteria. This combination of intense green-yellow light energy destroys the P.acnes bacteria. A red wavelenghth of light is also utilized by the SpectraQuattro to provide anti-inflammatory results. Because the SpectraQuattro utilizes a special 'anti-acne' slected broadband spectrum of light, it is capable of treating wide varieties of acne, including mild to pustular inflammatory P.acnes vulgaris. Clients often return to their normal daily acitivies immediately following treatment!

 

IS THE SPECTRAQUATTRO A LASER?

No. The SpectraQuattro is like a laser, in that it uses light to treat acne and other skincare concerns, but unlike a laser, SpectraQuattro uses a broad spectrum of light. This makes it capable of treating a wide variety of skin types and problems. Our treatments are less invasive an require significatly less downtime as compared to laser treatment. Our clients are often able to return to their normal daily activities immediately following treatment!

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PROCEDURE?

A gentle flash of intense light is quickly pulsed over the treatment area every three seconds until the area has received an adequate "dose" of light energy.

IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

Most of our clients find the process surprisingly comfortable. The SpectraQuattro's chilled sapphire tip provides skin cooling to keep the skin cool while heating up and destroying the targeted acne bacteria. We also use a cold compress after each session to help soothe the skin. Acne treatments are so quick and easy, the comfort factor is generally not an issue.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?

Every client is different, and the number of treatments required for improvement depends on a variety of factors. Most cases require two treatments per week for four consecutive weeks. Some conditions may require additional treatments and even different types of treatments for ideal acne clearance.
